The last month and a half I have been working on a pencil drawing of a brown bear. I lost track of how many hours I have been working on it exactly, but I did take a two week break while I was visiting my mom in the Netherlands. I’ve had a lot of fun with this drawing, because a bear had been on my ‘to draw’ list for quite some time.
The original drawing is 18 by 24 inch and it’s for sale. Have a look at my website Remrov’s Artwork for more information. Prints are also available, along many other cool products with the drawing on it, on Fine Art America.
Down here you can see me working on the drawing with my feathered friend Pilaf as my personal coach.
And here you can see the finished bear drawing. On my Remrov’s Artwork Facebook Page I always post a lot of progression photos of my drawing, so come over and follow me there as well.
Mr. Bear is so expressive! I absolutely love the way you can get all of the highlights in! Especially his whiskers. You do such amazing work! π (A bear has been on my list for awhile, too, but I can’t seem to draw anything except sea creatures these days!
Thank you very much for your compliment π
You’re very welcome! π
P. S. I love Pilaf! Beautiful feathered friend you have there. I used to have a Cockateil named Elliot who sat on my shoulder like that! He would sing in my ear and nibble my hair. π
Yeah Pilaf is so cute and an awesome friend. I really like the name Elliot for a Cockatiel. Was he also really tamed?
Yes Elliot used to sit on my shoulder and chew at my hair. He would also sit on the bathroom counter and sing to himself in the mirror! He never did learn to talk, though. I still miss him. I lost him in a divorce many years ago. Someday I would like to get another one, but he was pretty special! π
Oh that’s so sweet. I’m sorry you lost him, that must have been so difficult.
You have a good friend when you draw π

Thank you, yeah I do. This bird in the photo though — Pilaf — passed away last year in March. I have a new parrot now called Echo. He often sits on my hand or shoulder as well when I work on a drawing. And I feel Pilaf is still around as well always π
